Our Vision
FLoRa Communications introduces FloraNet, an affordable safety communications alternative. Similar to how a cell network is made up of cell towers, FloraNet is made of the Petal Radio devices we designed. They run on solar power and use LoRa ("Long Range") digital radio to send and receive text messages. Anyone with a smartphone can access the network - no expensive satellite device, user account, or third-party app required!

Applications
Implement FloraNet by installing Petal Digital Radio nodes along an established trail, or distributed throughout an outdoor recreational site such as a ski hill or national park.

Same Price, Your Choice
Installing FloraNet at a backcountry recreation site removes the price tag of essential safety communications from the individual's packing list. The onus is no longer on the casual explorer to purchase an expensive satellite communication device, which can cost upwards of $700 plus subscription fees (the same price could purchase nine Petal Radios). Having a FloraNet installation means adventurers can connect to safety services using the smartphone already in their pocket.
