Tech Specs
Battery Capacity
The battery in ALBATROSS is designed to last for five hours at maximum power. By limiting how many components are draining power, you can make this last much longer.

Charging the ALBATROSS
ALBATROSS will contain an AC wall plug and a pair of banana cables that can connect to various DC sources.

Power Sources for the ALBATROSS
We designed ALBATROSS to allow for charging from nearly any power source. Both AC power, like wall plugs, and DC power, like car batteries and solar panels can charge and/or power the device.

Saving Power
Switches mounted on the front panel allow the user to disable some features to prolong battery life.

Software Specs
Open Source
All software used by ALBATROSS is free, open source and community developed. Open source software is robust and high quality, with an active community of developers and users constantly improving and maintaining each program.
Kiwix
The Kiwix service allows ALBATROSS to create its own server, which contains a variety of encyclopedias downloadable onto the storage of the PI.

G-Predict
G-Predict is a software that helps track and monitor satellite positions, allowing the user to plan times for when ALBATROSS will record data transmitted by Satellites.

Doom
Doom is a classical video game coined as the grandfather of all modern first-person shooters. Users can play Doom in their off time to help increase morale in bad situations.

HostAPD
HostAPD is what creates the ALBATROSS LAN, which allows other devices with WiFi capabilities to connect directly to the ALBATROSS's LAN.

GQRX
GQRX allows ALBATROSS to monitor, measure, listen and record radio signals.

Foxtrot GPS
Foxtrot-GPS is a lightweight GPS application that allows you to find your exact position, download area maps, and make routes.
